It was another frustrating season weather wise for local cricket but unlike in 2008, there was just enough dry weather about to ensure that clubs were able to get their games played. |

The 1st XI completed a fine season at the weekend with a trip to Armagh on Friday night and a game against Templepatrick on Sunday. The team performed well on Friday night but were unable to defeat the league champions, but finished off in style with an 8 wicket win on Sunday - a match which saw young Chris Dempsey score his 1st half century for the team. It all meant that Larne finished with 14 wins from their 18 league matches and ended the season in joint 2nd place. It appears that Saintfield will gain promotion due to a superior net run rate but this does not detract from what has been a terrific season for Jonny Baxter and his team. |
