On a weekend of glorious weather, the sun shone on both the 1sts and 2nds as they recorded fine victories on Saturday and Sunday. It was an inexperienced 1st XI which travelled to Drumaness on Saturday and a good performance saw them record a 73 run victory. The 2nd XI entertained Holywood at Sandy Bay on Saturday and then travelled to Cliftonville on Sunday and were able to win both games helping them move up the league table. It was a tough weekend on the field as the 2nds and 3rds both went down to heavy defeats - the 2nds losing by 107 runs against Downpatrick at Sandy Bay and the 3rds suffering a 6 wicket defeat at the hands of Lurgan - see the Match section for full match reports. |

The 1sts travelled to New Forge on Saturday and beat both the weather and Academy to claim their 4th league win. In a match reduced to 40 overs due to a delayed start Larne posted 174 with the main contribution coming from Gareth Alexander who scored 75. Academy were going well in reply but the Larne bowlers held their nerve in the end to win by 12 runs. Click here for match report. |

The 2nd XI recorded there first league win of the season during the week when they defeated Donacloney in a 2 night match at Sandy Bay. On a fantastic pitch they were set 198 to win in 40 overs and managed it quite comfortably thanks mainly to 96 from Jonny Baxter. Batting for the 1st time this season, he played a fantastic innings and should have got a deserved century. This Saturday the 2nds will play Saintfield at the Rugby Club. |
