The fixtures for the 2017 season have now been published. The 1st XI will begin their league campaign in Junior League 2 by hosting Donaghadee on April 29 while in the Junior Cup they have been drawn away to Victoria. The 2nd XI have drawn Instonians VI in the Minor Qualifying Cup and begin their league season on May 13 against the newly formed Donacloney Mill.

Stats Zone

The averages for the 2016 season are now available and I think its fair to say that they make better reading than the 2015 season !!! There are plenty of great contributions but the Player of the Year award looks like a fairly straightforward choice. The career averages have also now been updated so you can see how you compare against the players of yester year.

2nds Promoted

The weekend saw the end of the cricket season at Sandy Bay and the 2nds capped off a great season for the club when they secured promotion from Junior League 8. They won their final game against Cregagh by 8 wickets with Derek McKinley finishing unbeaten on 54to ensure that they finished runners up to league winners BISC.

Ton Up For Baxter

It was as if it was written in the stars !!!! With a big crowd of former players and supporters at Sandy Bay to celebrate the 20th anniversary of winning the Intermediate Cup and to watch the 1sts last game of the season, Jonny Baxter entertained them by scoring his first century for the 1sts. It was a magnificent innings which finished 119 not out and helped the team finish the season with their 13th win from 14 league games. Unfortunately he was unable to pick up 5 wickets with the ball as he had to go and collect the pigeons but it was a memorable day for all (though some probably can't remember much) who were present - click here for match report.

20 Years On ....

Unbelievably it is now 20 years since our memorable Intermediate Cup win over Armagh II in 1996. To mark the occasion we are hoping to get as many of the people to come down to Sandy Bay on August 20 to watch the 1sts last game of the season against Dungannon. Gareth Gaw and his team have been having a great season and if they can manage 2 more wins could be celebrating winning the league that day. So everyone who played or was there that day, and in fact anyone who has been involved with the club both before and since 1996 is invited to come down to watch the game that day - there will obviously be refreshments involved once the match is finished.
