McSwiggle Awards Ceremony Confirmed

Larne Cricket Club's annual unofficial McSwiggle award ceremony, celebratory walk and dinner-dance will take place on November 14th. The glittering event is one of the most eagerly anticipated dates on the local cricketer's calendar.  It has been confirmed that the red carpet will be rolled out for its début at Rubys. This will be the first time in living memory that the famous event will be held away from the Curran Court. Despite the venue change all of the club's long established traditional rules for the dinner and walk remain in force.

2014 Season Review

Another cricket season has come to an end and it has proved to be a successful one for Larne Cricket Club as the 1st XI were promoted to Section 2 of the Ulster Bank League while the 2nd XI maintained their position in Junior League 8.

2014 AGM

The 2014 AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday October 1st in Rubys. There are many important issues to discuss so all members are encouraged to attend.

Season Ends with Controversial Tie

The 1st XI completed the 2014 season with a tie at home to Monaghan in a bad tempered encounter - click here for full match report. This game should not detract from a fantastic season which has sen them finish runners up to Cregagh who were the only team to beat them this season.

Larne Undone by Opposition Appearance

Larne's near recording-breaking run of flawless victories came to abrupt end on Sunday when the Seconds were thrashed by Academy IVs. It was the visitors who won the toss and they elected to bat on a fine looking wicket. Fortunately for Larne only two of their batsmen were able to make double figures against a valiant home attack. Unfortunately for Larne Moffatt helped himself to 101 not out as Academy reached 172-1 from their 30 overs.
